Hello Hello!

Valentine's Day is fast approaching (it IS tomorrow after all!) Do y'all have any plans? Here's an interesting little factoid: Valensius, better known as St. Valentine lived in the 3rd century A.D. and was martyred on February 14 (here's the link to the article: http://www.history.com/news/6-surprising-facts-about-st-valentine)

Today, since we're on the topic of love, I thought I would do a post about being a single Christian girl. I myself have only ever "dated" (using that term loosely) one guy and that was when I was 16. Long story short, he wasn't a Christian and it didn't end well. Looking back, I realize that what I thought was love at the time was really just infatuation. I was on cloud 9; in a so called "honeymooon" phase. When he broke up with me, I was crushed. I didn't understand what I had done to deserve being treated that way. I'm 23 now and just coming to realize that we have to be in love with not only who God made us to be first, but we also have to have a relationship with the Lover of our soul, Jesus Christ. A relationship with Jesus is unlike any other. He will never stand you up, or forget about you. As a single girl, it is so hard sometimes to see all the couples around campus (Liberty U=#ringbyspring).

But, I have decided to trust God with my love story. Right now, I have so much more to focus on. I am going through a period of personal growth in many areas. I know that a relationship would be a distraction right now. I also know, that the love story God has for me is SO much better than anything I could ever dream up myself. So today, whether your're like me and you're single this Valentine's Day or you're in a relationship, remember that there is one Man who will always passionately pursue your heart no matter what. And that is the greatest love of all.
