Family is forever

Hey ya’ll!! We made it to the end of the week! Woohoo! I trust and pray that everyone had a blessed week. By this time next week, I will be getting the last-minute things together to go back to campus. I simply cannot believe how fast this break has gone by. I am ready to get back into the routine of college life but I know that I will miss my family so much. It’s always good to come home and get away from the stress and constant happening of life on a college campus. I always find myself refreshed after a trip home.

I just wanted to tell you all how blessed I am to have the family that God has blessed me with. Three years ago, I went through a battle of cancer, one of the scariest things I have faced yet. And I know for sure that if it wasn’t for my family that I would have made it through. Most recently, our family was shaken to the core after losing a big part of our family. Through both situations, I have learned that no matter how often you talk to one another or what had happened in the past that family is always there to help you and stand by you in your time of need. They are the ones that celebrate with you in the good times and the ones that are by your side helping to wipe the tears away in the bad times. The pain doesn’t go away in a lot of cases but it’s always a blessing knowing that you have someone there going through it with you. I know that this isn’t the case for a lot of people who has a family that isn’t as involved in their lives as my family is in mine. My heart breaks for these types of situation and my prayer to the Lord is that when I come across these situations that I will be a listening ear and they know that there is someone greater out there that loves them more than any human ever could. I want to challenge everyone reading this to do the same thing, when you come across someone who doesn’t really have the best family situation, be there for them and love them. After all we are all a part of the family of God and are supposed to care for each other in times of need. As sisters in Christ, we are called to love one another through all circumstances. After all, Colossians 3:13 says, “Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”

Reach out to someone today that’s either in your family and let them know that you love them or talk to someone that has a bad situation. I bet it would mean the world to them.

I pray you all have a blessed weekend full of rest. We will see ya back here on Monday!

Love,

Cayce
