A virgin birth

Happy Monday lovely ladies! Since Christmas is only about a week away (woot woot!) I thought we would continue our series with Mary today. Here's a little background if you didn't already know: Mary was a very young girl from Nazareth who was engaged to a carpenter named Joseph. At this time, it would have been seriously frowned upon that Mary was pregnant before she was married. Even Joseph didn't believe that Mary had been faithful. The punishment for adultery would have been stoning. But God had something else in mind. He sent an angel to Joseph so that he could not only understand the situation but so he could protect Mary. Sometimes, I wonder how Mary and Joseph would have reacted; what Mary would have thought of not only being a pregnant virgin but being pregnant with the Savior of the world; what Joseph would have thought about having an angel visit him in his dreams. To the outside world, Mary might have looked like the unlikeliest girl to bring God made man into the world; just a simple young woman going about her business, never expecting such a miracle. But God has proved time and again that He uses the most unlikely people to bring about His plan. No matter how He chooses to use you today, trust that it will be for His glory and to further His kingdom. Merry Christmas!

Love,

Mariah xoxo
