Real reason for the season

Hey y’all,
OUR SEMESTER IS FINALLY OVER! WE ARE FREE FROM SCHOOL AND ARE HOME BOUND! TGIF! (aren’t Fridays such a blessing-really feeling God’s presence today-)
My first semester as a college freshman away from home for the first time is finally over. I am now cozied up in my favorite blanket at home, cuddling with my cats, and just enjoying my families company. Christmas is getting so close, bringing the stress and hassle from the holidays. We need to keep our focus on the real reason for the season.
This semester at Liberty has taught me so many different things about life. One thing that has remained is the importance of having Jesus as my focus. I am going to share two verses that focus on this idea:
Colossians 3:2 - Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Matthew 6:33 - But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Focusing on the real reason for the season not just now but all the time is the effective way of strengthening your faith. When our life is calm, we seem to get away from the focus. We turn to God only when it is convenient for us, or only when we need him. God will bless us when we give him our focus. The Bible tells us to set our affection on things in Heaven not on earth. The Bible also tells us that when we seek God, he will give us a part of him. I believe that when we focus on God it will lead us to greener pastures. Relating to our past blog posts; trusting in him, loving him, and accepting his plans will lead us to brighter and better things.
Thanks for reading you guys! If you have any prayer requests, comments, or concerns; shoot us an email. I will be praying over these next few days for safe traveling, and just calmer days. Happy Holidays! Talk to you in a week or two! I hope your days are full of Christmas movies, hot chocolate, presents, and love.
Love,
Autumn
Prayer for you:
Dear Lord,
Thank you for this day. Thank you for just giving a sweet light at the end of all the hard work. Thank you for giving me the strength to get where I am. Please just bless me and my fellow friends as we go through the holidays. Make known in our minds the real reason for the season. Be with everyone traveling, and just give them a wonderful season of happiness. We give thanks to you Lord for everything you do. Love you Jesus.
Amen
